I figured it was about time that I post a pregnancy update now that I’m 17 weeks along. I thought about being really good with blogging this pregnancy, like doing a weekly photo and update, but I doubt I’ll stick to that. I didn’t really do that during my pregnancy with Rosen, so I can’t let her think I’m already showing favoritism, right!?
I definitely want to document the pregnancy though, so when I have new stuff to share, I will post.
Thankfully, my pregnancy thus far has been really uneventful. It’s basically been exactly like my pregnancy with Rosen — no morning sickness, no weird cravings, just a little fatigue and the occasional headache. I’ve definitely been lucky. Hopefully it continues along this road!
My next ultrasound is at week 20 (August 5th), and we’ll get to find out the gender!
Your Baby in Week 17 of Pregnancy
My how your baby has grown! She’s about the size of your palm, weighs about five ounces, and is developing some body fat (join the club, baby!). Her heart is now regulated by her brain (no more random beats) to beat 140 to 150 times per minute — about twice as fast as yours! What else is up? She’s practicing the survival skills she’ll need at birth — like sucking and swallowing.
And just FYI…Rosen looks really interested in my belly in the above photo, which was what I was hoping she would do for the camera, but she was really just trying to grab my shutter remote. I can’t wait until she shows some real interest in what’s going on in there!
